Delmar Ross Aylor, 78, of Roanoke Rapids died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Aylor was a native of Syria, VA, the son of the late Paul Condor Aylor and Beulah Grayson Aylor. He served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Aylor was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Rothwell Aylor.

Mr. Aylor is survived by his wife, Virginia ''Ginnie'' Aylor; three daughters, Debra Liggett and her husband, Randy, of Santa Fe, NM, Ann Neagle and her friend, William Hopper, of Marion, IL, and Kelly Glascock and her husband, Jerry, of Chesapeake, VA; her son, Steven Aylor and his wife, Diana, of Richmond, VA; ten grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; two sisters, Anna Smithwick of Crestview, FL and Patricia Robinson of Waynesboro, VA; and his faithful companion, Skipper.

Memorial services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1405 Bolling Rd., Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.

The flag in front of the funeral home flies at half-staff in honor of Mr. Aylor’s service to his country.
